Weather Conditions:  The visibility for most of the morning was less than a half of a mile. This made for slow and very attentive riding/driving for our members and resulted in the delayed arrival of our Hero. Thankfully, by the time we began the procession, the weather was sunny and warm.

We had a wonderful turnout for the arrival of SSG Taylor. This was especially true considering the weather conditions early in the morning. We then endured a two hour delay, again caused by the weather. Thanks to the wonderful efforts of the Azle PD, Ft. Worth PD motor officers, Lake Worth PD, and DPS we had a safe procession to Azle from the airport. It was a honor to be there with all of you.

To the family of SSG Taylor I wish to thank you once again for the honor of participating in the arrival and procession for Houston.

Respectfully,

Bill "Rotorhead" Holcomb
Sr. Ride Captain

Weather Conditions:  We had a beautiful partly sunny and warm day for the final part of our mission.

Riders met and set up flags, stood honors for our Hero's arrival and that of his family. We then stood the flag line while additional family and friends arrived for the funeral service. At the start of the service we took down the flag line and prepared for the procession to the cemetery. As we left the church with flags flying and pipes rumbling local citizens paid their respects along the route. At the cemetery, we gathered in the flag line once again to pay honor and respect to a true American Hero and his family. I was honored and humbled to stand with the men and women of the PGR. I wish to express my sincere gratitude to law enforcement, funeral home staff, funeral director, staff of Texas Jet, Randy, Larry, and the other Ride Captains and members of the PGR that helped in the accomplishment of this mission. It cannot happen without your help. We received one of the greatest complements given to the PGR from the Brigadier General who had come to present the flags to the family members when he said " I cannot do my job without the help of the PGR."

On behalf of the Patriot Guard Riders let me once again sincerely thank you for the honor of being there with you. The sacrifice that Houston and you have made for our country will never be forgotten.

Respectfully,

Bill "Rotorhead" Holcomb
Sr. Ride Captain
